Phillip Mazzoco

Philip Mazzocco received an A.B. in Psychology from Ohio University in 1998, and a Ph. D. in Social Psychology from Ohio State University in 2005. He then completed a one-year postdoctoral research fellowship at the Kirwan Institute for the Study of Race and Ethnicity in 2005-2006. Starting in the Fall of 2006, he began working at OSU-Mansfield. His research focuses on beliefs and opinions related to marginalized, stigmatized, and/or underrepresented populations. 

In addition to dozens of published articles and book chapters(opens in new window), in 2017, Philip published a book on racial ideology entitled The Psychology of Racial Colorblindness. He also delivered a related 2019 TedX Talk(opens in new window) on the same topic, entitled “What’s Wrong with Racial Colorblindness.” In the intervening years he has given dozens of talks and workshop on these and related topics to widespread audiences, both academic and non-academic.
