The Kirwan Institute for the Study of Race and Ethnicity at The Ohio State University is proud to announce that it will host the 2025 Intersectional Qualitative Research Methods Institute (IQRMI) for Early-Career Faculty. Scheduled for June 1-6, 2025, this prestigious program continues its mission of advancing intersectional qualitative research while transitioning to its new home at Ohio State.
Founded in 2015, IQRMI has provided scholars with essential training in qualitative research methods that incorporate race, gender, class, and other dimensions of inequality. The program has built a strong reputation for fostering a scholarly community, equipping researchers with critical methodological skills, and supporting early-career faculty in publishing their work.
Dr. Ange-Marie Hancock, Director of the Kirwan Institute, will lead future IQRMI programs, continuing the legacy established by Dr. Ruth Enid Zambrana. “We are honored to integrate IQRMI into Kirwan’s work, furthering our commitment to equity, inclusion, and community-engaged scholarship,” said Dr. Hancock.
The 2025 IQRMI will take place on The Ohio State University campus, providing an immersive environment for early-career scholars to refine their research approaches. Applications are due by February 17, 2025. For more information, please contact Executive Assistant Tom Wike at wike.6@osu.edu.
