Claire Mei is a Master’s candidate in the City and Regional Planning program at The Ohio State University. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Geographic Information Sciences, with Minors in City and Regional Planning and Landscape Architectural Studies from Ohio State.

In 2019, Claire joined Kirwan as a GIS Intern to work on various projects including the Greater Hilltop Resource Mapping Project, St. Stephen Community House Assessment and Westerville WARM Data Dashboard. During her time as an intern, she learned to apply her geospatial and data analysis skills to study sociodemographic data as well as create a Resource Mapping Toolkit for users to replicate an online community resource guide.

Claire's research interests lie in the intersections of social justice, community development, sustainable development, and equity planning. Furthermore, she hopes to be a part of policy decision-making and aid in equitable development to allow communities in need to thrive.
